UNCLEAN GP SURGERIES CAUSING HEALTH CONCERNS-24 SEVEN CAN HELP

It has been widely reported in the press within the past month, that there are continual and widespread problems regarding the cleanliness and hygiene standards surrounding our GP centres.

Date: 22/1/2014

The Care Quality Commission, the body who carried out the national inspection, unearthed some serious failings in some practices regarding the hygiene standards in place. In some instances, the standard of hygiene was so poor, that live maggots where found to be present. In nine cases, the failings where found to be so serious that the CQC stated “they could potentially affect thousands of people”.

The checks were put in place to target practices, ahead of this year’s rollout of the first national GP inspection regime. The Care Quality Commission is aiming to inspect all the GP surgeries in the country over the course of the next 2 years. It will give them a rating on a scale of four. Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement and Inadequate. This standard already exists in hospitals, and it is expected to raise the standard of care in the community.

The CQC is starting the inspection process in October 2014 and aims to have a comprehensive record of all UK practices and their hygiene standards and practices by April 2016. 24 Seven Group have all the necessary skills and qualifications to help maintain and raise the standards of your health care premises.
